Modern scanning technology has made it possible to digitize pathological microscopic preparations with Whole Slide Image (WSI).

However, liquid cytological samples remain a technological challenge: standard autofocus and multilayer Z-Stack scanning often fail to focus on individual specific cells and place unreasonable demands on the storage of huge Z-Stack images.

Slides containing multiple layers, requiring manual scrolling, which slows down diagnostics and increases the risk of missed insights.

The Problem

Fluid samples are thick with cell structures in suspension. In the lab, the microscope needs to focus on multiple places pers sample.Multiple focal points required to observe cells within a single sample.

The Solution

Our patented cIToStackᵀᴹ technology provides an automatic focus of individual cells and lossless compression of cytological scans. Overall WSI data size is reduced, while primary cell data is preserved without loss, and the optimized data can be used for further Digital Image Analysis.

Co-Founder, Medical Lead

Clinical neurocytologist with three decades of medical experience, head of Laboratory for CSF, Neuroimmunology, Pathology and Special Diagnostics - Clinical laboratory accredited according to EN ISO 15189 with annual turnover of more than 10,000 CSF samples.

Ondrej is a member of the Czech Society of Clinical Cytology committee, an expert in cerebrospinal fluid cytology assessment within EQA/SEKK-CZ, and a member of the expert team at the National Center for Electronic Health at the Czech Ministry of Health.He leads the charge in digital cytology innovation by pioneering AI- driven digital cytology and precision diagnostics.
